Feet and °F for US spots, metres and °C elsewhere, or add ?units=c or ?units=f. ## MCP endpoints Setup steps for Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, VS Code, Codex, Gemini CLI and Elvean: https://status.live/connect (all categories) or https://status.live/connect/ (one). - https://status.live/mcp: every vertical's tools in one connector (server name status-live) - https://status.live/ski/mcp: just the ski tools (server name status-live-ski) - https://status.live/themeparks/mcp: just the theme park tools (server name status-live-themeparks): themeparks_search_parks, themeparks_get_park_status - https://status.live/nationalparks/mcp: just the national park tools (server name status-live-nationalparks): nationalparks_search_parks, nationalparks_get_park_status, nationalparks_find_campgrounds - https://status.live/campgrounds/mcp: just the campground tools (server name status-live-campgrounds): campgrounds_search, campgrounds_get_status, campgrounds_find_near - https://status.live/surf/mcp: just the surf tools (server name status-live-surf): surf_search_spots, surf_get_spot_status Tools (all read-only): ski_search_resorts, ski_list_regions, ski_get_resort_status, ski_compare_resorts, ski_find_nearby_resorts, ski_get_region_summary, ski_open_now. Resorts can be passed by id ("palisades") or name ("Palisades Tahoe"). ## What the data means Lift status is operator-reported: read from the resort's own lift board, with an as-of time. Every lift answer states one of: - reported: the board listed lifts; each lift is open, hold, scheduled or closed. - none_listed: the board answered but lists no lifts, usually off-season. Not the same as closed; status unknown. - source_error: the board couldn't be read. Status unknown, not closed. Weather and snow (depth, snowfall over the last 7/30 days and next 7) are Open-Meteo model estimates at the resort's lower and upper lift elevations, not measurements. Snow depth is omitted on glacier resorts. ## Try it without a client ``` curl -s https://status.live/ski/mcp \ -H 'Content-Type: application/json' \ -H 'Accept: application/json, text/event-stream' \ -d '{"jsonrpc":"2.0","id":1,"method":"tools/call","params":{"name":"ski_get_resort_status","arguments":{"resort":"zermatt"}}}' ``` MCP Inspector: `npx @modelcontextprotocol/inspector`, transport Streamable HTTP, URL https://status.live/ski/mcp. ## Troubleshooting - Use the URL exactly, without a trailing slash: https://status.live/mcp or https://status.live/ski/mcp. - The endpoints answer POST only; GET returns 405 by design (stateless, no event stream). - ChatGPT: the connector must be enabled in each chat (+ > Developer mode). - If the model doesn't call the tools, name the service in the prompt: "Using status.live, which lifts are open at Zermatt?" - 429 means a rate limit: 60 MCP requests per minute per IP, 5 ski_get_region_summary calls per minute. Retry after a minute. ## JSON API The same data as JSON over HTTP, no key: https://status.live/api/v1 (reference: https://status.live/api, OpenAPI 3.1: https://status.live/api/openapi.json). Every live section carries as_of, age_s, stale and a state; 120 requests a minute per IP. ## Optional - [Terms of use](https://status.live/terms): free for personal and non-commercial use; commercial use needs a license - [Credits and licenses](https://status.live/credits) - Contact: info@status.live
